The real work, not the pitch
There's a $150 billion problem sitting in Fortune 500 warehouses right now. Perfectly good product — shampoo, skincare, hygiene basics — being actively destroyed every single day because the economics of donation used to be worse than the economics of landfill. That's what we're fixing. In two years, Simpli has rerouted over $70 million of that inventory to nonprofits who actually need it. And we're just getting started.
The Impact Associate role is how we keep getting bigger. You own a slice of the work that makes the whole thing possible: finding the nonprofits, making the calls, and building the network that top, global brands into.
You'll own a territory, run your own outreach, and directly grow the foundation the entire company rests on.
What you'll actually do
- Call real nonprofits — food banks, shelters, youth programs, disaster relief orgs — through a browser-based dialer with AI transcription and a lightweight CRM built for this exact workflow.
- Qualify and verify partners using a structured six-beat script. Capture what matters, discard what doesn't.
- Route promising partners forward — some you'll close yourself, bigger ones you'll hand off to an Account Executive for a deeper conversation.
- Own your numbers — connect rate, verification rate, leaderboard position. Everything is visible, tracked, and real-time.
- Escalate ideas directly to corporate — if something's broken or there's a better way, you email the team lead. No chain of command theater.
- Share what works with other Impact Associates across campuses via a shared Discord and weekly huddles with your Campus Director.
What we're looking for
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
- Can hold a conversation with a nonprofit director. You listen more than you talk, match their energy, and meet them where they are.
- Self-starting — you'll manage your own queue and schedule. Nobody will be looking over your shoulder, which is the upside and the catch.
- Genuinely care about social impact, sustainability, or the nonprofit space.
- Relationship-building instinct — any of these count as evidence: sales, fundraising, volunteering at scale, serious student-org leadership, or cold-outreach of any kind. If you don't have the receipts yet, this is how you get them — the muscles you'll strengthen here are foundational to any high-leverage career path, whether that's consulting, IB, or building your own thing.
- Computer and a quiet place to call from. Fully remote.
The structure
- You set the hours. Work when it fits your schedule. You'll manage your own queue and decide when you're on the phones.
- Three-tier progression: SDR → Account Executive → Campus Director. Each promotion is a real resume line and a real change in responsibility.
- Monthly prizes — including a grand prize raffle, a guaranteed top-performer prize, and a top-school collective prize. Details at offer-time.
- Transparent performance tracking — leaderboards by individual and by campus. You'll always know exactly where you stand.
The fast track
Strong Impact Associates earn fast-track consideration for the Simpli Fellowship — our highly selective 10-week summer program at the NYC office. Fellows get founding-team mentorship, access to our investor and advisor network, and a direct path to full-time roles. The Impact Associate externship is the single best way to get on that list.
The actual impact
Every nonprofit you get verified is a new home for product that would otherwise be destroyed:
- A food bank that now receives pallets of surplus inventory from a Fortune 500 brand.
- A shelter that gets hygiene products, personal care, and dignity-essentials at no cost — so people rebuilding their lives don't have to choose between a meal and a bar of soap.
- A community organization that gains access to resources they could never afford to buy.
Imagine it's 2050. Do you picture a world where we're still bulldozing perfectly good product into landfills while people go without? Obviously not. That future doesn't build itself.
This is actual social entrepreneurship — not, respectfully, the fluff that usually fills this space.
